The rumor has been kind of blown out of proportion. One of the Pens writers made a list of the handful of players the Pens "inquired" about and Lucic was on that list. Hextall has stated publicly he'd like to get bigger and stronger, but also adding he wants players like that who can play well. Based on what we know Hextall isn't offering up any top picks or prospects unless it's a major deal, so the 7th fits. I'd say the best the Pens could probably offer is like a 5th, but would still need CGY to retain 50%. A 5th is probably not enough for CGY to retain 50% I'm guessing.

Pelletier is NOT > Krebs. Sorry. Krebs has superstar potential. Pelletier will be a nice top 6 forward. Krebs is the sole reason Vegas’ offer will always be better than Calgary’s. It’s not about quantity. It’s about quality and a top center. Krebs is a center and is a better prospect than anyone in Calgary’s system. The top piece is the most important one. The draft picks and other players that come along with it are just bonuses if they pan out, but the top prospect is the most important part of the trade.
