Gourde, Johnson, Stamkos out, bring in Landeskog, watch the world burn

NJD is letting TB off the hook a little here. They could get greedy and get TB to upgrade the pick a little.

No team apparently wants Johnson or else the trade would have been done. And some of the those bottom end signings seem way to low.
Gourde, and M NTCs Killorn and Palat are the ones that way to low.

For Cal Foote a right shot D man the Devils sorely need sure we'll take Johnson.

Maybe but wouldn't the Devils be better to sign a 5m UFA and keep Bastian than have the cap plugging Johnson, and Foote?

Yeah we going to lose 5 to 6 .. Coleman Goodrow Savard and 2-3 of Gourde Johnson and Palat. Young guys need to step up and we WILL have Cap room to sign 2 to 3 $1M UFAs who want to come to win in Champa Bay .. look for Ryan Suter .. that pretty much is our model for next couple years.. KEY is to move Stamkos and his 3/8.5M AAV .. that would REALLY help and sign Point and Cernek LT right away.

No because Foote fits the timeline and you can't get guys like that in UFA. Johnson is still a useful player and can play RW where the Devils could use help. We have 9 million coming off the books in PK with no prominent UFAs to sign.

21/22 isn't a great year for goalies....maybe goalies. But 22/23 a very good collection of UFAs

Devils have two needs they will fill this off-season:

1. Young defensive RD
2. Veteran right-handed 3C/3RW (Zajac’s old spot)

The Foote/Johnson package to New Jersey makes so much sense, it is silly. Especially if we are about to get into the brother accumulation game.

But I feel like this has been proposed many times on ACGM with Lightning fans saying, “no, never” so I stopped proposing it myself.

But the thinking is Seattle is taking Bastian and then flipping him elsewhere.

Plenty of cap space leftover for that 2022 UFA d-man class. We can do 2-3 of these types of deals and still keep our powder dry.

What if we gave u merkley instead of bastian and add a 4th and if thats not enough u can take out the third
