Description
Assuming Seattle take Kerfoot in the expansion draft, that leaves the Leafs' D intact and lets them bring in better depth up front. I think Brossoit as a cheap backup has potential (though he may not want to leave WPG) and gives more room to add. Granlund has been a target for a while and - like McCann - can slot in at 3C or LW on one of the top two lines. Bunting and Foegle add some grinding wingers to the mix and pushes down Mikheyev, who really should be a forth liner if he can't regain his scoring touch. I'd be pretty happy with a lineup like this, though I think there could be a bigger move coming.

Dubas probably made a side deal with Seattle because I don't see why they would trade a prospect and pick for a guy and leave him unprotected. I bet Dubas made a side deal

Yeah I think it will cost a 1st to make Seattle take kerfoot. McCann is a lot better.

There's no way Dubas traded for McCann just to have Seattle take him. I think they traded away some picks and maybe a low tier prospect to insure they take Kerfoot over McCann

Ok and they’ll have to pay a lot for Seattle to not take McCann. It’s not going to be cheap.

I'm sure Dubas will make a small side deal to get Seattle to avoid Holl and select Dermott, probably why Dermott got a new contract, to lure the Kraken to select him.

Simmonds is too old to get picked and Spezza will refuse to report if selected, so both are on the unprotected list.

And Engvall is overpaid by 1/2 a million for a 4th liner.

Yeah, that's the entire reason he wants out. Carolina also want a 2nd+ for this player, they even protected him from Seattle while exposing Nino Niederreiter

Canes aren't interested in Engvall and that pick isn't high enough. Initially I thought he'd get a 2nd in return but if they protected him in the draft and based on reports of interest across the league I'm beginning to think they'll get a 1st or a 2nd and a good prospect. I think that's too much personally but if there's a ton of interest I wouldn't be surprised in that return.
