Fair, but might as well give it a try because you lose nothing and Sorokin gains everything. I guess the galaxy play would be to have someone else on the islanders that you hope them matching means they cant sign, but I didnt plan that.

this OS would just force the isles to buyout komarov/hickey.

Sorokin has arbitration rights and will likely get in range of 4M$ there though and they're not horribly cap stuck (leddy very movable if needed)

Fair enough. They are pretty rough, but according to the Keith deal, moving boatloads of salary might be easier than expected. Still whats the harm in offering Sorokin this? Most likely you dont get him, but you never know.

I agree, sorokin is the only isles RFA that would sign an offer sheet IMO, but this won't be enough. He would make more money long term learning from Mitch Korn and playing in the isles system - but if a team offered him something like 6.5-7 mill x 5-6 years he would definitely sign. That would hurt the isles and they would probably match and have to trade varlamov.

Yeah well the cost is too high for the sharks. Cant risk a 1st rounder when the sharks are so terrible. Doubt we would see a team risk it for a goalie but who knows

Would be great if it worked. Realistically the isles are so great in goal. Would be kinda worried how he did away from that coaching staff
