clearly I have some issues that I underestimated. I'll be redoing it in a V2.
I do have reasoning for this all though. Last year and the prior year, Smith was the better player between him and Burakovsky. My own thinking is that I could throw in Smith, who could return to his norm, as well as the AHL Vezina goalie and a decent prospect. I decided on the goalie, Thompson, because of the uncertainty of Grubauer returning. That, and I think Thompson could be better.
Based on the recent overlooking of good players, like Dube, in the Calgary management, I think I would be capable of sneaking him away.
I made the Fleury trade purely on cap management. Selling high on a great goalie as he is clearly exiting his prime. I also think it could be beneficial for The caps, as Samsonov hasn't really had a good mentor, and it may be too early for him to be carrying the starting load. Sure, he had Holtby, but Holtby was a good few years out of his prime. I was definitely reaching though on getting Vanacek, Sprong, and Dillon back.
