I can't see them trading Heinola really -- but Ekholm is the exact kind of defenseman that WPG needs, maybe in FA if he gets that far. I'd hate to see Ekholm in a WPG jersey though lol

I think thats a pretty reasonable Forsberg trade

Ekholm would hold a lot of interest for Winnipeg, but not enough that the Jets consider moving Heinola for a rental.

I could see a lot of teams being interested in a potential Ekholm trade -- he already has a low cap hit for a top 3 defenseman and could even be retained or have a pre-negotiated extension in place. So I could see his value potentially getting this high, but I don't see WPG being willing to make that deal. So maybe that puts WPG out of the running, but who knows!

I do have the feeling that he's most likely to re-sign with NSH though -- we'll see.
