Agreed. If there was an extension worked out, I could see them contemplating it, but even then it seems like a weird move.

If they add a forward I would have to think we add a centre, and a rebuilding team surely wouldnt trade a first rounder from a year ago, and the 33rd OA pick in the upcoming draft for a pending UFA who turns 28 in a month

Yeah, I could see adding a winger in the right scenario. Obviously this isn't really it.
