I'd be pretty surprised if Grubby accepts less money and term than Lehner got. Guy just put up an absolutely prolific season.

If Nemeth were to be re-signed there might be a riot in the streets. If that’s all that it took to get Jones even I an admitted Jones pessimist would do that trade drop him into the 3rd pairing and roll.

I love Landeskog - would be great to have him in Toronto - but 56 M over the next years is tough. Especially with the Makar singing and the approach of Burakovsky, Kadri and MacKinnon being their biggest UFA´s in the next two seasons...

And the deals just got done with Nugent-Hopkins and Ek set the table for long term contracts. So either less money or term IMO.

Bura and Kadri are gone, dont really care about signing them again, they have Newhook, Ranta, Kaut etc to take those roles on teh 2nd line, not to worry about long term

Erik Johnson wont be on LTIR, so that jones trade is impossible with the cap, plus its low balling price for him, I cant even admit that for someone who doesnt think its good at all
