I personally like Foegele. I would accept that.

This is basically Foegele for a 3rd. Evgeny was put on waivers earlier this year and no one took him. That might be because there was a pact to not claim off waivers much this year, but I personally think it was because Evgeny doesn't hold value

The reason Svechnikov was put on waivers was that there was no roster spot for him. This year there is.
When he played he scored at slightly more than 0.3 PPG and did so with limited icetime and mostly subpar linemates. There is no reason to think that he can't better that with more consistent playing opportunities and more icetime.

He played well enough this season to slot in as a 3rd-liner that can contribute offensively. He may no longer be a blue chip prospect but he's not as bad as people who haven't watched him play thinks.

I’d take this from a Detroit perspective. I’d also like to see Foegele get more of an opportunity and see Svechnikov away from Blashill.

He might be good for you next year, but the fact that Detroit felt waiving him was a safe option and 30 other teams passed on taking him for free makes me think that he doesn't add much to a trade
