I just don't know why EDM is in the rumor mill. That part doesn't make sense. His kids aren't anywhere close to EDM...from what I read.

Rumours are SEA would be ideal because 2 hours from his kids and EDM for a win now opportunity (also chance to play with McDavid and LD). They are the 2 main candidates here. VAN and CGY have cap issues to navigate.

Are his kids in Penticton B.C.? If so then you are spot on with Seattle making sense for travel, minus border crossing but that's nothing major in normal times. Vancouver would make more sense travel wise, but like you said cap issues similar to Calgary. Edmonton makes sense for the reasons you stated with the win now and playing with McDavid, but it also does make sense travel wise. Although it is far distance wise (roughly 1100km), it is a shorter flight and has more flight options to Penticton/Kelowna. That area isn't a heavily populated or traveled area during the season. So cities like Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver have an easier access to it.

This article says Edmonton is one of his preferred destinations. Only a 75 minute flight from his son. I mean he’s still going to be playing and traveling like crazy, he doesn’t need to be RIGHT there. 75 minutes isn’t bad for when he’s in town.

Yes plenty of rumours flying around though will be interested to see what really comes of it. Ive seen local EDM outlets say Jones + Turris for Keith. I would not be best pleased with that outcome even if it saved us cap space. It would also signal a push for S.Jones who I don't think we should be giving up assets for. CBJ already fleeced us once in recent time!

I would not do a Turris and Jones for Keith Deal. I would rather bury Turris and sign a UFA.
