Description
Jets fans want playoffs. Bring in duchene. Solidify the top 6 for the next 2 years. Let the younger guys develop a bit more. All these young guys are going to need more money soon so you will have to make moves eventually and why not now? May have to add another small piece to the Avs.
Fleury trade can only be made if you trade a pick or player to Vegas so they don't pick a goalie. He's a veteran goalie who can show Hellebuyck the way.

I think those look like some pretty decent trades. I like the Jets, not a fan of Trouba, but otherwise a better team than their recird shows.

Don't think the Avs want to take a chance on an often injured Myers. They want a top D prospect or a guy like Trouba.

Not sure why the Avs would want Myers and his 5.5m contract. Better ways to spend money. And Lemieux, it's Brendan not Claude, and there are doubts if he's an NHLer. Lottery protected (meaning playoff team) pick, the Avs might never see that draft pick.
You can't find a better goalie for 5.75m than Fleury. And you would lose Hellebuyck, who probably is a better goalie than Fleury anyway.

You're better to resign Pavelec than to trade for Fleury.

Lottery protected but get a first in 18 if Jets miss playoffs.
Maybe roslovic would be the better prospect to give.

you always have a penguin to hate on eh? last year it was kessel but you were clearly proven wrong there. and youre going to be wrong about Fleury too, he just won't be a penguin when that time comes

mhockey91: Sorry to disappoint, I don't have a hate on for the Pens, any team or any player. I just think I am correct to think that Fleury is not good value as a NHL player any player anymore. And if the Jets did trade for Fleury, before Vegas expansion would would they protect the now overpaid Fleury or the the younger, cheaper better Hellebuyck?

If your interested in what I wrote about Kessel, go back at look what I said about Phil. I was very consistent in what I said and I have been proven to be right.
1. I like Phil. (hasn't changed). 2. As a Leaf, Phil was a very average hockey player most nights (since he no longer a Leaf, I can go only go back at look at last 1.5 years as a Leaf. 3. I wasn't sure if Phil would play up to 6.8m but as I said last spring, Phil changed and has been a real bargain and valuable to the Pens. 4. For whatever reason, Phil was never going to a good player in Toronto. 5. Myself and most knowledgable fans of the Leafs are happy that the trade was made....to clear the slate of a non performer (as a Leaf) and to clear cap space.
Phanuef fell into the about same category in the trade as Kessel. Overpriced for his Leaf performance, It was time to start over.

Don't know why you get so upset when people disagree with about the analysis of Fleury. Obviously 29 teams haven't taken the Fleury bait either cause he's been available.

I dont think the avs would make that trade. they want three or four high end pieces. and those aren't going to do the trick
