At some point I have to think some Leafs AGM will have Hamilton at the correct salary without thinking he's going to take less to play in TOR.

CBJ decline, that move doesn't make any sense for them. Hamilton is looking for at least 8mill per year.

He's not getting more than 8 IMO. He himself asked for 8 on the high end, and obviously he can be negotiated down.

Literally every contract negotiation ever. You start at a high point and a low point, and meet somewhere in the middle. I also fail to see how he's gonna get more than what he's asking for?

Relax buddy 200K-300K off. Hes not going to get more than 8.2. Other teams GM's also have offered him this contract also

Yeah... sorry, it doesn't always work that way. Hamilton will be sought out by many teams. He will choose his team and price.

Leafs fans think everyone wants to take a discount to play there and yet it hasn't happened once.

Spezza could've easily got 2 million, same with Thornton and Simmonds.

He isn't getting more AAV than Pietrangelo in this market. But he might get the 8th year based on CAR allowing him to explore FA.
