Somehow you manage to get more for Reinhart than you did for Eichel. Either way the Sabres aren’t doing any of these things.

Batherson is way better than Texier and the 2022 1st pick is way better than the Tampa 1st. Also Sokolov was the best player on our AHL team this year. I’m not saying it’s enough but it’s dumb to think that’s a worse return than the Reinhart one

You think Texier, Kivilenieks, a 1st, and a 3rd have a higher value than Batherson, Sokolov, a 1st, and a 2nd? Batherson is a stud and that 2022 1st round pick could be top 10, maybe top 5. It's a gamble, but clearly Eichel is unhappy in Buffalo and after this past year, his value is quite low. Kind of a risky move, but it could pay off. In the Devils trade, Ristolainen is a pending UFA and hasn't been any good the past couple years. Subban keeps them at the cap floor, and Bahl and Zetterlund are not bad prospects. Devils may have to add a 3rd or 4th rounder too.

Batherson had double the amounts of points Texier had this season per 82 games. Batherson had 50/82 and Texier 25/82

OTT declines, too much uncertainty with Eichel for OTT to gamble giving up Batherson on and OTT is VEY weak on the rw side to give up batherson

I agree, Ottawa would be very hesitant to trade Batherson. I wondered if they would trade Josh Norris and maybe a 3rd rounder instead of Batherson. I still think that in the long run though, Ottawa would win this trade.

Subban and Bahl are both better than Risto.

At best, Risto gets a late pick - but is more likely a cap dump.

At this point, Risto is much, much better than Subban and Bahl. Subban sucks, and Bahl is a B-level prospect who, at best, will be a 5th-7th defensman this year. I know Risto is a pending UFA and has a bad contract rn, but he could still be very useful as a 2nd pair defenseman to a number of teams.
