Dube is better than Patrick already and doesn't come with the risk.
Monahan is just as good of a goal scorer as Tarasenko, has less risk and a lower cap hit. Not to mention centermen are more valuable than wingers.

If the Blues are able to trade Tank for Monahan straight up (which, realistically isn't likely) every Blues fan would be ecstatic. That deal would make absolutely no sense for Calgary though.

I like the idea of Patrick, I don't think Philly send him for Dube, I also think Dube is a really good piece in a trade as his spot should be filled by Pelletier/Zary/Ruzicka in the next couple years.

I don't think the fans would be that ''ecstatic''. Monahan being a centerman doesnt really hype his stock because he's not a 200ft player. I hope St louis keep Tank over Monahan, but it would be a good hockey trade for both

Tarasenko, if his shoulder is even capable of getting back to 80%, isn't a 200ft player, either. Far from it. Monahan's at least a healthy, cheaper body, who's also a very good player. The Blues have enough flexibility with someone like Schenn that they could kick him out to LW and have Monahan center the 2nd line.

Personally, I think Tarasenko, as Blues fans remember him, is long gone.

Monahan was not healthy this year he gone through hip surgery. Put him on a line with Johnny and he scores 30+ goals
