No where close to being cap compliant. Too much to pay for Reinhart who can be a UFA in a year and wants to leave the Sabres.

Still CAP compliant with over 750000.
Rienhart was a trade and sign giving up 5 years of UFA.

Sorry, 20 man roster are totally impractical. Neal can't be wished away on LTIR.
If you have 6.85m (the Reinhart signing) the Oilers would 100 times better spend it on a UFA(s) and keeping those young assets.

You got Run for the hills part right, the Oilers should be running to the Hills to avoid any of those trades

    Ya ok.

    Oilers needs -
    RHD
    RHC
    LW
    LHD

Those trade's are fair value for the Oilers IMHO as trying to as non-biased as possible. What kind of salary would Reinhart get on the open market? my guess is it's probably north of the 6.8 I gave him.

The Oilers are in win now mode, they don't have time to wait for players to develop.

    A) Holland has a history of LTIR his star players namely Datsyuk & Zetteberg - both investigated for wrongful placement - Lets remember once the investigation was completed Datsyuk started his second career in the KHL.
    B) If Oilers buyout Neal, He will never play another game in the NHL. He knows this.
    C) to maximize his salary it's beneficial for Neal that he goes on LTIR.
    D) what do you think Neal will do? Honest question. If he comes to camp, cant pass his physicals - LIke Lupal in Toronto or Robidas in Toronto what's the over/under he develops a bad back?

Neal hasn't been healthy in two years.

Reinhart value is fair, he's 25 years old, he's not old. On the open market my guess is a 60 point player gets 6-7 million, I believe mine to be a on the higher end of the spectrum but not to high. It's Edmonton. You have to add a little.
If RNH is a 6 million player for 50 - 60 points then Reinhart is in the ball park.
Oilers don't need young players developing on the NHL team, it's do or die now, the clock is done ticking.

A Koskinen buyout is easier and Kuemper is on a expiring contract and is on the wrong side of 30, unless he’ll agree to fair value extension your not moving a ton to acquire this guy
Deangelo is a disgusting human being even worse teammate, locker room cancer and PR nightmare, Edmonton won’t have anything to do with the guy not to mention he can’t play D to save his life.
The Ducks will want more in return and why trade JP he’s proven he can be a top 6 winger and is on a value contract, wouldn’t be surprised to see him out produce Rakell
    Over pay for Reinhart
If you could get a 2nd for Jones ya move him but the truth is the guy is a 6-7 dman, that doesn’t get you a 2nd

I’d argue that the Oilers are in win now mode far from it, this team doesn’t have the depth at the NHL level nor do they have the depth him the system to mortgage the future to win now, stay the course add through the ufa market and continue to draft and develop the kids and we’ll be in win now mode in 2 yrs with a young team that doesn’t have cap problems and built to win for yrs to come.
Broberg, Holloway, Bouchard, JP and McLeod combined with McDavid, Draisaitl and Nurse make this team a legit cup contender over the next 5 yrs and beyond.

    Thanks for the suggestions.
Kuemper is 31 years old and is a top 10 goalie on a terrible team. You do realize the Oilers ran a 40 year old all year.
You know about people is that they can change. Yep, your not wrong on DeAngelo, massive risk. However, Nurse played with him, He's a 50 point player that's tough.
I'll never throw stones at glass houses, the great thing about the Oilers is the 2nd and 3rd chances they give to players. Messier in his youth, Fuhr & Kassian. all had there problems. It's possible the Oilers show some positivity to the kid.
YEs, Reinhart is a little heavy but it's Edmonton, you have to add a little. Its on the higher end of the spectrum but I don't believe its an over pay. Oiler need a true 2nd line RHC full stop. Reinhart wants out at 25 your not giving that much years away in Holloway whos what 20? Reinhart is 25.
McDavid has what 4-5 years left, Draisaitl is what 4 years.....That clock is ticking rapidly
When's Bouchard a top pairing D-man? it taken Nurse 7 years
Broberg, going to wait 6-7 years?
The forwards in the AHL are at leasdt 3-4 years.

Prospects and picks mean **** to this team right now, If Holland goes into next season without using a 1st for a trade he's doing it wrong.

It’s a flat cap for the next 3-5 yrs to be competitive your going to need ELD contracts
I total disagree that will have to wait 3-6 yrs for any of Holloway, Broberg, Bouchard and McLeod to be impact players, Bouchard and McLeod will be fun time next yr and both of Holloway and Broberg could be on the roster after Xmas as both have 2 yrs of experience above jr already.
Deangelo has already been given multiple chances to change be it jr or at the nhl and hasn’t plus your first responsibly as a D is to defend something he can’t do, doesn’t matter how many points you produce if your always digging the puck out of the net
Take Holloway out of the deal and add Lavoie and the Reinhart deal makes sense for the oilers
