Carolina already has good future picks/prospects so it just doesn't make sense to downgrade that much for good futures and trouba if they can win now and still have a good future

For the money he'll command it's really a choice of a young star and Schneider. Don't think we'll keep the all the boats in the fleet if we add a brig like Hamilton.

Couple things here - don’t think Dougie’s rights are worth that much but assuming you’re doing it bc of money to make the contracts work? At the same time, if I’m Canes I’d just re-sign Dougie. Also, it seems like term is a sticking point on both sides. If Dougie was good with 4 years at that AAV I’m pretty sure Canes would be fine increasing their AAV if he comes down on term to that level so don’t think they’d end up letting him go.
