Well, that's certainly the way to throw Anaheim into full rebuild mode and guarantee the Ducks a good ticket in the Wright/Bedard sweepstakes.

We trade three full NHL top-sixers for one NHLer, three prospects (one of whom has 75 games of AHL experience and the other two of which have never played a professional hockey game in North America), and three futures, the first two of which almost certainly won't turn into an NHL player until 2023-2024 (if ever).

I don't think such drastic measures are necessary. Anaheim isn't Buffalo or Columbus, requiring a virtual tear-down. If whoever we get at #3 in this year's draft turns into a winner, and if we manage to pick up one of the stray firsts floating around late in the round (perhaps using one of the players shown here), we could just let nature take its course and we should be fine.

Horrendous for the Leafs....one year of Rakell, an overpaid centre even with retention, and a faltering 30 RWer. Plus it's not cap compliant.

Lol leaf fans are something else. The trade may not be fair but your descriptions of Henrique and Silfverberg couldn’t be further from the truth.

You should be more realistic of your own team. I wouldn't trade Kerfoot for Henrique. And Silfverberg....at age 30 may have hit wall. 16 points in 47 games...Keep him for the 3 years.

You should watch someone other than the Leafs. Henrique is still a 20 goal scorer and getting him for less than 3.5M is a major upgrade over Kerfoot. Silfverberg had hip surgery but you wouldn’t know that living in your leaf bubble. The only point you have on him would be whether he could recover from that but again before the injury another 20 g scorer you’d get for less than 3M.

I don't know as much about the Leafs as I do about the Ducks, but it seems I know about the Ducks than you doing. Henrique was put on waivers for reason. I still say Silfverberg in on the decline.
Kerfoot and Henquries....Lets call even. But in effect the Leafs are giving up 2 first rounders and 3 second rounders for Rakell and Silfverberg. No team would offer nearly so much., Ducks would jumping on that deal, even if the offer was 50% lower than proposed.

I already said the trade was bad. I’m talking about the players themselves at the cap hits the leafs would get them in said trade. Henrique was put on waivers because GMBM and Eakins were unrealistic about the team and used him as a scapegoat. He still was on pace for close to 25g in 82 game pace. Silfverberg was still a very good defensive winger this season even with the hip injury. And he was still on about a 15g 82 game pace. Sure that lower than his usual numbers but again he was injured.

You may end up being right about Silfverberg’s decline but I’d blame the injury more than what he was doing when healthy. Also fwiw Henrique is more likely to be traded than Silfverberg as the GMBM loves Silf.
