Detroit declines.

Nielsen is likely to be bought out by Detroit and Neal doesn't help Detroit in any way, we already have 9 waiver eligible wingers penned in for next year + Raymond and Berggren.

If you want to buy yourself out of cap-hell you'll have to pay for it and it won't be cheap.

Lavoie + Broberg + Neal for future considerations could possibly do it.

RNH will want more than 5M and will have plenty of offers.

Also that CHI deal has no benefit to us whatsoever. We don't need to move Seabrook due to LTIR so not a need to dump his cap, we have plenty. We don't want any of the proposed players you wish to dump to us.

So you buy a year off of Neal's contract plus the extra half a mill for free? I think not!

In that world would the Wings take 2 years of dead cap, for 1? That trade could not make less sense.

Despite what everyone here thinks, the reality is that Neal is still a very goal PP player and he still is a useful player who could pot 20 goals in a season. He is not fast, put he is more physical than you think and he still has a wicked shot.

He got Covid just before training camp and it took him a few weeks to get back and had some lingering side effects, so he was never 100%. At worst he will cost the Oilers a 3rd to dump him.

He will likely be on the roster next year, but who knows....

Dump on you? They are all useful NHL players and better than most, if not all of the bottom 6ers the Hawks used in 20-21.

Koski is a very good Goaltender when he is rested, he was over-played and Turris was absolutely brutal in the D-zone the first 3 weeks of the season. An NHL 3C would not have allowed so many freebies. Take those games out and MK had a good record.

What is Seabrook but a cap space-eater?

Well that's good for you guys that you like Neal so much, because no one is taking that contract off your books without hefty compensation (ie A 1st AND another good asset)

A 3rd to dump a guy who scored 5 goals, 10 points in 29 games and is owed $11,500,000 salary cap and actual cash over the next two seasons, when the salary cap is almost guaranteed to stay flat for that duration? The same guy who is past his prime, and even if his slump was from COVID alone, is due to start/continue to regress? I'm sorry, but that's beyond wishful thinking.

Seabs is on LTIR, we aren't strapped for cash so don't need to move it.

I disagree about them being better than our bottom 6. We traded Kahun, we don't want Koskinen and if they were so good why would you want to move all 3?

They do nothing for us. We will keep our assets then pay for what your offering.
