Description
-Let me know which Free Agents I lowballed, highballed or just wouldn't be able to get because they are sticking with their teams or wouldn't come to Edmonton
-In an attempt to try and improve depth scoring, I have lost pretty much all size and sandpaper, let me know how you would fix that, most likely with the 4th line but I really like that line from the AHL.
-I put extra info the trades, let me know if those don't make sense or how to adjust them
-James Neal bought out
-Koskinen traded at 50% retained instead of bought out, get some value back, and don't have to deal with his dead cap next year
-Smith resigned because Holland said he wanted to do that in his interview yesterday
-No major trades because Holland said he doesn't want to move 1sts
-Don't worry about PK lines, every coach utilizes more than 2 at different times etc, quick question, can Krejci PK?
-PP lines are legit and I like them
-Turris is buried in minors
-Chose Krejci over guys like Wennberg because Oilers need a reliable RH C
-Russell, Ennis, Khaira, Shore and Lagesson all scratches (Shore and Lagesson are in the minors due to roster space)
-Holloway, Lavoie, Broberg, Skinner and Konovalov should all be starting in minors next year
-Signed Tyler Tullio to ELC, Oilers might not do that this year
-Carter Savoie should spend another year in the NCAA in my opinion
-Random players for AHL still needed
-Hopefully G Sebastian Cossa is available for the Oilers to pick in the 2021 First Round
-I don't think Klefbom will play next year, his career could very well be over :/
-Adam Cracknell and Brad Malone are both legends for the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL so they would be signed to play down there
-Not sure about the contract years I gave players (apart from Nuge and Larsson), let me know if they need to be changed, and also let me know of anything you would change or agree/disagree with in the comments :)

Détails additionnels:
Elliotte Freidman has mentioned the Rangers would be a good destination for Kassian who needs a change of scenery, honestly the Oilers might need to give Kassian and a 5th for future considerations but this is more of what I've been seeing.

Tampa needs a backup, I don't think they have someone in the system, if they do just send Stalock to another team who needs a cheap and serviceable backup.

I think at 50% retained he is worth a 3rd, not sure if Chicago is the right destination, I thought he could be a good tandem goalie with Lankinen and also because Koskinen is Finnish he can help and communicate with Lankinen well.

    Rangers decline.

We'll be looking for 1x1 years deals for the 4th line. Not Kassian types cap/term wise.

All of the players you've mentioned seem like excellent targets to me, and as for money figures, who knows? None of your amounts seems foolish.

Personally, I don't see Krejci signing there, but he's certainly a proper target.

My only question is this: if you assume that Klefbom won't return, then won't you be protecting *Ethan Bear in the expansion draft?

*Ooops -- I meant Caleb Jones.

no one wants koskinen even at 50%. You can pay the hawks to take him, we won't pay you for him

Ah ye your right thats what I should've done with my assumption, but I'm trying to mimic management, Caleb Jones was scratched for most of this year and the entire playoffs, Dave Tippett quite clearly isn't a fan of him for some reason and it already feels like he's gone. Klefbom had successful surgery but he's mentioned in many interviews he is going to put his quality of life above hockey because obviously, it doesn't sound very optimistic though. Difficult situation, hopefully more positive news will be revealed about Klefbom before the Expansion Draft or who knows... maybe more negative news, both would make the choice easier. Would be really tough to let Klef go though, but if we would have to keep Kassian then we can't sign Martinez and Caleb Jones certainly helps that left side, a lot to think about with that one. If Klefbom was available for Seattle to take do you think they even take the risk? Looking at other options from Edmonton I think I would.

i think krejci could easily get a 6 mil deal and martinez could probably get 5 mil with the season he's having right now. just my thoughts.

Perhaps thats true, but he's only 1 year removed from having a .917 SV% through nearly 40 games. Us Oiler fans love to complain about him, but it's not as if his career is over, he is still a serviceable goaltender. Once Smith got back this year Koskinen had a >.920 SV% in a mixed backup/tandem role, which is probably what he would have if he shared the net with Lankinen. Getting a 3rd round pick for him is optimistic, but Koskinen at 50% retained doesn't have negative value in my eyes.

The best that would happen at 50% is someone takes him for free imo. Much better options in the UFA market for similar costs and you don't have to give a pick

Oof thats fair, Krejci had a great year and so did Martinez which is why I wanted to go for them. I think my estimates were a bit low and yours are a bit high though, with the flat cap who knows. Remember both are aging and I offered them 2 year deals.

True a lot of decent goalies on the market, most teams would probably take Bernier or Greiss over Koskinen.

There is a theory that they might take him because if he can't play, at least they can use his cap hit to get to the floor, but I don't buy that. I think Seattle would look at Josh Archibald because he's the kind of right-handed bottom-6 winger that every team needs to fill a slot. Or they might take a flyer on goalie prospect Stuart Skinner if he's not protected. But you're right -- the pickings from the Oilers are about as lean as those from Detroit or New Jersey. Which raises an interesting implication for Edmonton's depth.

Hawks have Delia + Subban + Soderblom, we're not giving up assets for Koskinen.

Subban I think is an ok backup, Delia not so much, not sure if Soderblom is ready yet. Either way thats fair if you don't want him, he would be an improvement in net for you though, which team do you think would take him? I'm also getting the sense that nobody wants to give even a 4th for Koskinen, so would u still decline if it was Koskinen 50% retained for Future Considerations?

If you want to give the Hawks a 5th to take Koskinen with retained salary they might. There's just no reason for anyone to trade for Kosk with folks like Driedger on the market and young goalies everywhere.
