Description

These will likely be the lines heading into the playoffs. Dobson and Wahlstrom were two of the isles better players tonight , so I'd think theyre both locks to play, but you never know with Trotz.

A few positives heading into the playoffs:
1. Barzal has 6 pts in his last 6 games
2. Beauvillier has 22 pts in his last 25 games
3. Wahlstrom has 3 goals 2 A in his last 7 games ( in a bottom 6 role)

It would probably be a good idea to give those 3 more ice time.

Tonight was the first time Barzal and wahlstrom were on the same PP unit. If they want have any chance at beating the pens (they have the 26th ranked pk), it would make sense to have both of them on the ice for as long as possible on the PP. It's insane that it took this long for trotz to put his best play maker with his best goal scorer.

again, you aren't going to beat the penguins in a skills match, they are way deeper than you and have better talent.
If it's a skills game you already lost.
That's the game that the penguins want to play. If NY is gonna win, they are going to have to drag the penguins down into the gutter. Which is exactly what your 4th line does. Don't count on Barzal and wahlstrom to do that.

The powerplay could carry the isles to a series win, but that would mean putting barzal and wahlstrom on the same unit - and we all know Trotz will go right back to Bailey-Wahlstrom.

I've been saying this all season. It'll never click in trust me. I agree with you, the Isles strength is in their defense and physical play. They need to roll all 4 lines equally and get scoring from all 4 just like they were doing earlier in the year, most Islander fans haven't figured out they have no true first line. They just assume the line Barzal plays on is the first line when in reality their first line is the line who gets the hottest and right now it's the Nelson, Beau and Bailey. It's a team game.

They have no true 1st line because Trotz is a moron and doesn't know how to adapt to injuries. Lee-Barzal-Eberle was a true 1st line.

don't worry Trotz gets it. He's had Sully's number for a while now.
I'm not saying that means NYI will we, but they have a much higher chance to win than people are giving them. I'd say it's a 50/50 because I know what Trotz does.
