Chytil was on pace for 43p as 21 year old with good potential, if anyone counter argued that the 21 year old is only putting up .5p/gp, they would get laughed out of the room.
Apparently those players are free agency replaceable
Quoting: Klara
lol, of course, but then you get a 30 year old with a 4x4M contract, instead of having a 21 year old who will only continue to improve.
Alexander Wennberg .46ppg not going to cost an arm and a leg
- Already said it's based on his willing to sign a team-friendly deal. Still waiting to hear why that's even more naive than all the other BS that we've seen on this site for weeks. It's something I'd never bet that Fox would do, but it's something I wouldn't bet against either.
- Probably $9-9.5M, I'd say the same for Makar and McAvoy too
It’s naive because it doesn’t really ever happen. A player isn’t going to lock himself in for his prime earning years at max term for a massive discount. A year or two? Maybe. It’s a business.
Considering Fox forced (for lack of a better term) his way out of two organizations to play for the Rangers, I think it's safe to assume he takes a discount. It's infuriating, I know, but it wouldn't surprise me one but if he signed an 8x8 deal.
Why? When he forced his way to the rangers every team would have been offering him the exact same contract.
Id rather he play his contract out in the KHL than trade him for players they could find in Free agency
1) a guy like lundkvist on a fresh elc is more valuable than pretty much anyone you could sign, chytil is 21 and will likely be making like 2.75 for his age 22-25 seasons. Idk how you think free agency works but you dont get young high ceiling guys like that without overpaying and giving up multiple first rounders
2) why in the world would you rather lose him for nothing than something, spite is clouding your judgment

Sabres dont need Dmen, and Dmen are a dime a dozen. it doesnt address the Sabres needs
Please stop trolling if you’re not going to add anything of substance
Fact of the matter is LA is not in the Sabres conference and they have the ability to offer prospects the Sabres actually need, not just ones that are convenient to give up. Rangers shouldnt feel entitled to Eichel

someones gotta break it to buf fans that they do in fact need d, hopefully its adams when he accepts a nils/chytil deal because la didnt offer byfield. good offensive dmen are distinctly not a dime a dozen btw

Not exactly sure what prospects you're looking for that New York doesn't have...
If it's Quinton Byfield, he's not on the table -- just like Alexis Lafreniere.
also right side defencemen are a shortage in the NHL, for the record

I can't explain it other than NYC is where he wants to be. He's a Long Island native, his father has season tickets to the Rangers, he grew up being a Ranger fan. Just one of those things- home town kid wants to play for the home town team and wants to win.

I don’t disagree. I’m sure that’s where he wants to be for his whole career. But that doesn’t mean they don’t have to pay him. If they’re offering 7 and his value is 11, he’s not signing for 8 years. And if he gets to UFA quickly because the rangers fart around and blow the cap space they need to sign him long term, and they’re offering 7, while others in the league are offering 11, he’s taking the 11. No one has taken that big of a discount in league history.

You're a Bruins fan. Marchand Bergeron and Pasta make less than 20 mil combined, and you're over here talking about how nobody takes discounts lol

Turcotte, Fa.gemo, Kaliyev, Kupari, Vilardi, Thomas, Chromiak, LaFerriere - dont need Byfield at all

The Sabres finished the year with 5 dmen under the age of 24, with more prospects in our system. That same D core also made Tokarski and Houser look good. We dont, at all

So you're telling me, that not only are ALL of these prospects "inconvenient to give up", but the Rangers don't have anyone of those players' tier?
You're actually insane if you think that.

im sorry doesnt risto play top 4 mins? you cant be serious you must be playing too much chel. nils might play first pairing right way for buf lmao i have no clue what could possibly lead you to believe youre ok on d theyre young and not good as a group

Risto isnt bad. Again as I said, they played the final quarter of the season with ECHL goalies and did better than the first half, but no, everyone has top pair D prospects except Buffalo (Funny when your definition of good dman is scores a ton of points, not their actual ability to play d). The Sabres are good on D

yeah ok thank god youre not in charge of the sabres, thinking risto should be anywhere near the top 4 is unbelievable. if risto "isnt bad" then nils lundkvist is turning into prime erik karlsson
