Laine would look so good beside Nico or Jack for years to come.

Jackets get a top 10 pick, a 25-32 1st round pick and someone who already plays the jackets kinda game in Wood.

If I'm the Jackets I take this and run.......No superstar likes to be demoted to the 4th line, and he'll hold it against them whether Torts is back or not.

This doesn't help NJ

We have Hughes, Nico, Zacha, Bratt, Mercer, Foote, Holtz, Sharangovich, Kuokkanen who all could be in our future top 6.

Devils need defense more than offense

You do realize your leading scorer has 33 points, right? Adding a threat like Laine gives your offense much better depth, forcing the opposition to focus on one line and opens up scoring for others. YOU have good young talent, but they need help.

We have guys like Holtz, Mercer, and Foote in the system. But I'm more concerned about our defense rather than our forwards. Plus, I don't think Laine will do well under coach Ruff

5 of those 9 aren't in the nhl and most won't be for atleast another 2+ years , you've gotta have people to play with your nhl elite play makers until the others mature. What better than an elite goal scorer.

Better yet, use those prospects to attain nhl ready defenseman sooner rather than later.

I have to agree as it’s much easier to find a top 4 defenseman then a pure goal scorer right now and I bet the Devils could get Jake Bean or Ryan Graves for one of those prospects straight up because of the expansion draft.

7 of those guys are in the NHL. Hughes, Sharangovich, Kuokkanen, Hischier, Bratt, Zacha, Foote.

Foote has only played a few games to save his ELC but looked good in those games. He will make the team next year

Holtz will be ready too. He's in the AHL right now getting used to North American ice

Mercer is 1-2 years away

Devils need defensemen and we'll likely trade one with our first round pick.

Idk about this trade because Laine doesn't do very well when he is on bad/worse teams but idk if the devils will accept this one.

Laine and Roslovic were traded for Dubois earlier in the season and his value has only decreased with Tortorella in Columbus so I don't think that this trade would require both of the Devils firsts. Wood is scoring above a 20 goal pace again over 82 games and a top 7 pick should definitely be enough for what Laine's value is right now. However, Columbus would be dumb to sell low on Laine at this point.
