I am going to disagree with Wheeler as an expert.
He is a writer with zero scouting experience.
Pronman at least has relationships within the scouting community.
Also, most media lists that were published were done so before this season. So, there’s been movement since.
And, this is my view. There is no right and wrong.

But since you have such strong opinions on the matter, I encourage you to make your own list. Only one rule though: you can’t look at any media lists while making it.

Vesalainen is playing with the jets right now and let me tell you, this kid is a future 30 goal scorer. He needs some comfidence but once he gets it, he will be soooo good.

Lundmark was 8th on my list, I’m not exactly too high on him either, role player as you said,

Samberg looks legit in the ahl, he can play in the nhl now but the jets probably want to develop some offensive game first.

Smith looks really good. Kid is oozing with skill. Can’t wait to see what he can do. Maybe nothing, but maybe he’s a future top 6 guy. Idk. We’ll see. He’s a wild card.

And the other 3 are role players, I agree. Chisholm has potential for more but they are likely 4-5D and a 3C for gus.

That’s more depth and high end talent than Nashville at least imo.

I simply used them as examples, my point lent more towards the fact that professionals don't view Nashville's prospect pool as highly as you do. Everyone has different opinions, it's when the mass majority agrees or enough of them have similar placements on a organizations prospect pool that we can get a sense of where everyone belongs.

I'm just saying not a single one had Nashville in the top ten. That's it. I don't disagree with any of your other rankings, and I'm a Wild/Penguins/Shark's fan. I could easily be sitting here arguing about how the Shark's could be higher, but I'm not.

I fully respect that your list is your own, and for the most part, do agree with it. Just not Nashville.

To be fair however, Wheeler may be a writer, but it's disingenuous to say the man doesn't do the work necessary to know what he's talking about. Like Pronman he watches hundreds/thousands of hours of footage of these prospects and also talks with scouts, GM's, and those that watch these kids with any regularity. He and Pronman are no different in that regard, so I'm not certain why you would say that he doesn't?

Wheeler may watch ton of hockey, but he creates lists from his own viewings.
He is a writer, not a talent observer.
Pronman spends his time watching hockey, and writing about it. But he is also known and respected in amateur scouting community.
He derives his lists from conversations with scouts.

And Wheeler isn't? He's just as respected by amateur scouts as Pronman is. That's ludicrous.

So your point is that a man who has actively known and been apart of the scouting community, interviewed, gone to games, and has pretty much known them since 2014, and is as well respected as Pronman is by that self-same amateur scouting community, doesn't know what he's talking about.
