Description
Despite all the critique, just based on what I've seen of Ducharme since his junior days as a coach, this isn't the type of roster he likes, but I feel as if his hands are tied due to cap constraints and possibly that the GM and him have a different view about roster construction. I feel that this is a more appropriate line up. more puck movers with offensive minded capability. we saw what ducharme can do when there was a noticeable difference after CJ was let go. Give the man a chance. Secondly, Habs need to unleash Romanov. We've seen what he can do when he is given the option to make plays. This d-core combination allows us a good combo of puck moving d with offensive instincts. Im playing Poehling on the wing so he can learn while playing with Danault.

I feel like Ghost has actually been decent this year, whereas Byron has been...not so good...

i can add picks tbh. both have been on waivers this season so i assumed both have similar values.

I don't disagree with the Ghost/Byron trade, but using the rationale that because both were on waivers this year they have similar value is incorrect. The reason both players were put on waivers throughout the season was so both teams could accrue cap space on days they were not playing. Both teams assumed (and rightfully so) that because of their contracts and cap hit, they would never be claimed. Furthermore, the real reason both went unclaimed at different stages of the season is simple - any team claiming them would have to keep them on their roster for 30 days before sending them back to the taxi squad. Most teams competing for the playoffs were already near the cap. And those that had the room, chose to play their young guys. Byron is a serviceable top 9/bottom 6 forward that can play any forward position and is a great PK guy. IMO, Ghost is a one dimensional d-man. Not sure he's a player that would be in demand.

It doesn't really make sense for the Flyers. We do not need another bottom 6 forward

you save about 1.1 mill in cap. You can always flip him and you get rid of ghost.

So we are going to trade a pick to move ghost and then try and flip Bryon for a pick...seems counter productive. Plus, Ghost has been our 2nd or 3rd best D man this year so I don't see us just dumping him.
