theres no reason for LA to do that trade you really want 3 players making 10 million. let alone byfield can be better than eichel.

After that, you're comparing him to guys like Petterson, Schifele, Malkin, Point, Tavares, Bergeron, O'Rielly, Barzal, Kopitar, Cotiuier, etc

barkov is much better than eichel. Then when you add that Eichel is paid significantly more than almost everyone else you named it just is not worth it. your taking a gamble that eichel will become that 10m player.

He's already a 10 mil player. He's payed more than all those guys (expect Tavares and Kopitar) because he's better than all those guys.

Barkov is having a monster season sure, but he was underwhelming last year. Drai doesn’t get enough love on here

I disagree. I think most GM would take Matthews over Cosby in the 2021 playoffs. He's been way, way better in the regular season this year, so I think most GM's would probably take him.

Way better? Really? Considering sid is a 200 foot monster and while Matthews is solid defensively, especially for a goal scorer, he definitely isn’t as complete as Sid. Let’s also not forget Matthews stats are a little inflated playing in the North, and Sid has single handedly carried a very injured pens team into division contention.

Sid's good defensively, don't get me wrong. But it's not like he's Selke calibre. He's top 10 in Selke voting usually, but he's never even been a finalist. The amount he'd be better than Matthews defensively is small.
And I will admit something now: I did not realize Sid had that many points. In fact, looking at it now, it does seem silly to say Matthews has been WAY better. But due to Matthews scoring like he's Ovi 2.0, I'd rather have him on my team for the playoffs. But it is close. Very close in fact due to Sid's resume in the playoffs. But I think Matthews holds a small edge. He's always still scored in the playoffs despite the rest of the team choking. He's never been the playoff problem, not even close. If the leafs win the cup, I'd be shocked if it isn't him who wins the Conn Smythe.

But wow, Sid doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon despite Malkin falling off a cliff. Hope the pens go far this year. I've always been a huge fan of Sid.
