Why are you protecting Phillips over Backlund and playing Dube at 2C?



Ive always wondered that too, I think Calgary's top 4 is already pretty set for the foreseeable future.

I prefer to keep Phillips over Backlund. Dube was drafted as a centerman, pretty sure he can be a good 2nd line center. For the Monahan trade, I was scrolling through teams and wondering where to trade him lol. We need a 2nd or 3rd pairing RHD. Also Valimaki needs to play with the same partner for years to come.

It made some level of sense before they signed Tanev, but now I just don't see why Calgary would do it. I think Philly makes the most sense given Fletcher drafted Dumba and they seem to need a top 4 RHD.
