Really? He will be 30 in July do he’d be 38 years old at the end of his deal making $8 m per season. I don’t think so. Maybe $6 m for 6.

I think Hall will command a bunch in the offseason especially if he gets moved to a contender and performs.
Barrie could come back. I can see it. He’s an awesome fit alongside Nurse.

I rather not get Hall unless we lose Nuge, because we could use that money that we give him, to get depth, and depth will make us a better team.

In my opinion 8M for 8 years is too much. I would like to get him 3-4 years 5-5.5M.

Hall is coming off a terrible year, nobody is coming close to a 7 x $7M deal. I mean, the best he could get last summer was $8M x 1 to a terrible team and he sucks - he'll be lucky to get the Barrie deal: $3.25M x 1 to try and repair his value.

He could. But Bear is a better partner for Nurse and Barrie bombed out with every other partner, so there's a pretty good chance he doesn't get an extension.

8 x 8 is insane. On the open market I could see Barrie getting the Faulk / Krug deal of $6.5M x 7, but I highly doubt the Oilers go anywhere near that in dollars or in term. I'd let him walk, personally.

Yeah, I could see someone giving him $6.5M, but not Vancouver. Since the Barrie signing they traded for Schmidt ($5.95M x 5) and signed Demko ($5M x 5). Hughes and Pettersson need new contracts this summer too; I just don't see Vancouver being in the market for a high priced UFA.
