We don't need Eichel, without a bunch of other signings that trade doesn't make Philly a better team.
I agree, this is not a good trade for Philly.
As I said earlier, BUF fans will want a superstar for their superstar, most trades dont work that way. If Im BUF I kiss Eichels ring and try to keep him interested while I build a team around him, (something the pegulas dont care about).
BUF is laden with solid, high end prospects and should be looking, if they have to move Eichel, at a deal like the Philly offer, using their top prospects and adding 3 players, all under 24 yrs old who are already successfully producing in top 6 or top 2 pairings.
Eichel has not played with the best players, but hes getting oodles of minutes: 5 and a half seasons, 375 games , 355 pts is about a 75 pt a season average.
TK, Patrick, Myers in less minutes, but with arguable better players have:
326 games, 206 pts, last 2 years a pro-rated 63 pts in TK
179 games, 68 pts in Patrick
and 6'4 RD Myers, 24 pts in 97 games and a mid round 1st and 2mil in cap space
Losing a 1C, but gaining a 2RW, a 3C, a 2RD (and dont tell me a defense of Dahlin-Risto, McCabe- Myers, Joki doesn't look long term good) all under 24 yrs old?
If Im Philly, I dont do it, if Im BUF I try and keep Eichel, but if I cant, I probably take that Philly offer.
