Can't see the Leafs being remotely interested in the injured and poor this year Pearson for Leafs 7th Dman and a starter next season.

He's skating this week, he'll be back soon. He'll help them score in the playoffs plus he can play PK.

I wouldn't look too far at his production, the whole canucks roster is struggling but he's a good player. He's def the type of player u want in playoffs

Thats going to be an easy no for the Leafs. Pearson wouldn't even fetch a 2nd round pick as a rental right now, no reason to trade a prospect who they've put a lot of work in developing for him.

2nd from the leafs would be the ask. I agree this is too steep, but any less than the leafs 2nd is an undercut even in this market.

Any sort of 2nd is too much for him. Players like Pearson were going for 4th-5ths last season as rentals. Look to examples like Cody Eakin, Namestnikov, Ennis, Eakins specifically makes the best comparable for Pearson. Had a good season the year before but is struggling in the current one, falling back to his usual pace, also having missed some time. Salary and point pace are in the same ballpark. Eakins got what would have been expected to be a very late 4th. You arn't going to move up 2 rounds retaining 10 games worth of salary. I'd maybe give you a condition on the 4th to move up to a 3rd based off playoff success, lets say the Leafs make the 2nd round and Pearson plays in 50% of games.
