Funny that none of that gets even close to Gibson and Manson

Come on man, one of these guys is 1. Under 30, 2. On a rebuilding team. The other is 1. Over 30, 2. On a contender.

Gibson is obviously better than Andersen and thinking otherwise is pure bias

The point isn't who is better, it's who will be a solution to the Leafs goaltending problem. If you go into the underlying numbers on Gibson, they havn't been good much longer than just this season. He's basically Price, living on the reputation of past efforts despite multiple seasons of modern day failures now. If you are a team who's going to give up a fortune, why would you gamble on a goalie who hasn't played well for a couple of seasons, signed to a big contract with a long term? It would be insanity to. Might as well offer to take on Bob at 50% retained from Florida and not pay the ransom.

Unsophisticated hockey fans don't understand the difference between goalie stats and forward stats. Guys like Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl score 100 points in a regular-length season but their teams do $h!t in the post-season IF they get there and the forwards are still regarded as All-Stars. Goalies play on hopelessly inept teams and when their stats suffer. suddenly it's THEIR fault.

Those who say Gibson isn't still one of the five best goalies in the League -- and it's usually Edmonton or Toronto guys, whose teams need Gibson the most -- ought to see Gibson go somewhere meaningful and watch him win games against them.

The only player in that gang of cast-offs we'd be interested in is Timothy Liljegren.
