There is now way the Leafs trade all their picks from the first 3 rounds, let alone a Second and Engvall is a way overpay on that front for a 30+ y/o, who has to quarantine. And in the Ekholm trade, I do not think he is a good system fit, plus the price and asset cost would be more effective if they stayed in house.

What's so special about Staal, especially since you lose him for over two weeks and lose the centre Engvall who he replaces
Leafs won't be trading a Dman (Dermot) while they wait for Ekholm to be NHL ready. Also trading Liljgren isn't wise as he is almost guaranteed a spot next season, when the Leafs might lose three two of top 6 this summer.
