Namestnikov want to play in Detroit. Yzerman wants him there. He is young enough to still be good when he turns the team around. Also, hardly enough value there unless he stunk and wanted out.

One thing I will say is almost everyone on here is going to be expecting too much for players. Almost every single "we can get more" comment is wrong. There's maybe 3 teams that aren't up against the actual cap or their owners enforced cap. Most owners have told their GM, this is your team, we aren't taking on any more salary. The "we will keep him" might be valid but if teams are looking for picks or assets your selection of teams is very small.

Honestly when making these I'm not trying to get the popular vote. Just trying to make good deals I could see the Leafs realistically make and winning and/or benefiting from. It's been said that it's a buyers market because demand is low this season.
