Description
Not exactly the package id want for Nylander but it's just to show his salary being dealt to make space for hyman and a 4M goalie (doesn't have to be sorokin I just picked him because he's played well and nyi will have a hard time getting him under there cap)

    I wouldn't sign Sorokin if I were you. 0.871 SV% isn't your ideal for a starting goalie.

Sorry, There’s no way I’d take nylander for 2 firsts and 7M cap in a flat cap world. Holloway looks like he’s going to be a real player, and giving up his cheapest years for Nylander just isn’t worth it.

The phrase cap hell wouldn’t give the oilers situation justice. As it is the oilers don’t have that much trouble scoring goals and with the deal, there’d be no room to improve the defence or goaltending.

They have goaltending for the future, and if they resign Ullmark they still have a capable starting goaltender. They just need a decent back up that can play 25 games a year and not be awful like Hutton. After this year they will be jettisoning some of the old, more useless defensemen, and injecting a lot of youth into the lineup.

Kerfoot isn’t worth a 2nd. I might pay a 3rd for him, but since the Sabres don’t have one, take the 4th for him or go screw. But really the Sabres probably don’t need him. With Mittelstadt taking the third line Center position and Girgensons coming back there’s no room for him. I would only trade Risto if the offer were too good to say no. Since that’s unlikely he probably doesn’t get moved. McCabe may get a better offer in free agency. Montour will be gone and so will Colin Miller because I expect Seattle to take him.

I'd let Kerfoot be Toronto's problem.

I expect Seattle to take Borgen.

I'd cancel MSG, or break the 7 button on the remote, if the Sabres open next year with Mittelstadt and Girgensons as their 3/4 centers.

Borgen may get protected. Him, Dahlin, and either Risto or Jokiharju. If Risto is left unprotected I don’t know if Seattle would take him anyway. However, if they plan on leaving him available they may trade him first. By the way you’re also forgetting that Eakin is still here and probably not going anywhere. He is definitely a third or fourth line center.

If Krueger's still the coach Ristolainen isn't going anywhere. Seattle would jump on Jokijarju.

Trying to forget about Eakin signing. Guys like him are final touches. This team is far away from final touches.

Krueger won’t be the coach, and he doesn’t get a say anyway. That’s why I would sooner leave Risto unprotected because I think Seattle wouldn’t bother. You save Jokiharju, Borgen, and Dahlin. Not to mention we have hardly any forwards worth protecting. It’s actually difficult to come up with seven names that are worth the trouble. Most of your effective players are unrestricted at years end and do not need to be protected. And nothing says the Sabres can’t pull a trade with Seattle to encourage them to take someone else instead of Borgen if they should leave him available, like Thompson, **** that guy.

Definitely not a 2nd that is sure to be near the beginning of the round. That's damn near a late 1st.

Are you out of your mind? Holloway is a franchise, why should we change it to a capricious clean edge, avoiding hard work, especially with the right grip, which we have plenty of. Moreover, Holloway from Alberta, he is now on fire, he is talented, strong, efficient and creative, and most importantly, versatile, that is, both the center and the edge, and with a left grip, which is missing an element in our top 6 right now.

Kinda funny considering 98% of the players on the Sabres wouldn't be worth a second when compared to kerfoot.
