Don’t agree with that and all. Yes, don’t need to wait till the deadline to make a move because of the quarantine period. But this is absolutely the year to go all in and make a run up to the Finals. It’s a weak draft near the bottom, where they will pick, so use that and a prospect and load up.

All they have to do is beat two Canadian teams and they are in the Finals. This is 100 percent the year to go all in.

One trouble possibly with "loading up" is that Leafs will have take on cap...obviously a good player...so who gets traded out.

For arguments sake, if they put Vesey on the taxi squad with Barabanov, Lehtonen, Boyd, and Hutch the Leafs would have 2.1mil to make an addition. There’s going to be retention on any trade they make.

Now if they decide they like/trust Engvall at 3C then I could see a scenario where they trade Kerfoot for a impact player to play with Tavares and Nylander. Or if they are ok with Kerfoot playing LW with JT and Nylander, I could see the Leafs adding a 3C.
