Leafs would take Granlund, Forsberg, and Ekholm any day of the week for Nylander and Rielly. I am noticing how many of the same players the Leafs have, they need different elements to their game

Value aside, Rielly isn't someone NSH would target. He's an offensive defenseman that would have to take a back seat to Josi and Ellis. Why take him on, if you can't give him PP time and 1st line minutes?

Rielly is way better defensively and offensively than Barrie. The Leafs won't make this deal. They're on a winning streak, the team is gelling and the only adversity is having to plug in some of the organizational depth that Dubas skillfully loaded up on. Teams in first place don't make blockbuster trades and especially not with a guy like Rielly who has been a cornerstone of the rebuild.

Also Leafs say yes in terms of value, but in reality they say no. The team is looking really good right now and there's no reason to shake it up.
