I think the leafs are fine, they need time to mesh. they have a 12-3-2 record. they've only had like 2 bad games. The Willy trade is a bad one, he's 24 and has to mature some. (He's ahd afew bad games give him a brake)

i know i like nylander a lot but its just that with the trade you save money for now and the future and you get a huge upgrade with getzlaf as a 3C. It would make the team built for the playoffs

He literally hasn't had any bad games this year. He just has scored at a point a game. He's way better defensively this year and has been really good all around. Leaf fans "Nylander Floats in his zone and doesn't hit, he sucks" he then plays really good defence and "Nylander is playing bad he isn't scoring". He just can't win.

He's not a point a game, he's not goigng to be, and he does not compete hard enough. They play him only 16 mins a night and he is taken off the line in the final minutes of the game becasue he is not trusted defensively.

Look at his defensive metrics this year. He's massively improved. He back checks hard, he is often the guy who gets the puck back in the defensive zone. He just hasn't scored as much as people want. This is just what smart leaf fans have to endure. When the Leafs lose, it's Nylander's fault. He isn't on in the final minute because he doesn't compete? Or is it because Matthews, Marner and Hyman are better to put out there in the final minute? That is the correct answer but instead the anti Nylander dummies will say it's because he's crap. No matter what he does guys like you will call for his head. "Oh look he scored 5 points and was plus 6 in the game!" You guys - "Zero hits and he had 1 turnover in the neutral zone, he needs to be traded!" Its so stupid.

Physical play is nice but it’s not everything.
If he worked and competed on Pucks like some of the others
he would be a great player

Scored the most goals in the league within 5 feet of the net last season. Aka "the dirty area". You literally can't do that without competing hard for pucks. Was one of the top players for offensive zone takeaways, can't do that without competing hard. Sure he doesn't compete as hard as Hyman, Matthews or Marner but those guys are beasts. Nylander is so relaxed, he's different but certainly works hard, he just makes it look easy.
