Quoting: LRS87
You got remember that Tanev is currently carrying our third line. McCann hasn’t done anything that a normal 3LW can’t. Tanev has been the heart of this team and is more valuable. Plus Seattle will have more than enough cap space to take him on.
Tanev is a very under rated player. But they won't protect him.
Thing is I don't see Seattle taking him. I also don't see them selecting Blueger or ZAR.
It all really depends how Matheson plays and if a deal can be worked out.
Because
1, the Tanev contract while ok, is not the best use of their cap space.
2. ZAR is always hurt.
3. Bleuger is not a long term contract guy and he's 26. If he goes to Seattle he's going to the open market at the end of next year. It's simply best for him OR, Seattle over pays on a guy who is a 3rd -4th liner tweener center who sucks at faceoffs.
I don't think any of those options are overly appealing to seattle.
They are better off making a deal with the penguins but I'm not sure the penguins have much interest on paying an arm and a leg at this point.
