if only he had a shot he'd be top 4 material.
That shot is just wild. He's young though they'll work on it but it makes it hard to play offense if the defenseman isn't able to get on net. Rebounds off the back wall going the other way don't help.
Defensively he's pretty solid though. I think by next year if he works on his shot he's a solid top 4 guy.
Honestly, at this point our defense looks like it's made of glass though. WTF was that Letang injury. He was barely touched, and they wear knee pads.

I would play Matheson over Ceci on the R side or figure something out. He still has to play. We ain't getting rid of that contract unless he gets ice time.
People can argue it all day, but if you want to have any hope at all of moving that.......you got to play him or we'll be stuck with a 4 mil dead weight contract.
Probably not the best idea to play him on his off side. Maybe POJ can play RHD? I don't know it's asking a lot. But it's going to take a lot to move Matheson if he gets no ice time.
Team needs to have a serious conversation about getting Jankowski off the ice at this point. He's totally useless out there. I don't have the corsi numbers for tonight's game but he didn't look good out there at all. The last game against Boston they ate him alive in 5v5 and even strength play. 28%. FFS we can't we games like that. It's just on repeat with him to, it's not like it's the first time. How long does it take to admit the mistake and move on. Send him to the AHL and bring in some youth. It's not hard to figure out the holes here.
