While the goaltending of late has not been stellar, the Oilers are not playing as a team. I counted five rushes in the last game where #29 & #97 were trying to go from one end to the other. MTL were sitting back poking puck and shooting it back down the ice. Oilers players were sitting on wall, not in movement. When players get frustrated, this is often what they do. They try to solve things on their own, not because they are selfish but because they care so much. When I had some star players do that, I had a drill when I would put my two star players on the goal line and have them try to outskate the puck, while I had teammates on the blue and read lines advancing the puck. Every single time, the puck always arrived before the player that was skating. So this physically and visually reminded them, to get out of a funk, they need to play as a team and be in movement. Oilers are a good team but I knew MTL was going to win both games.
