I think the leafs pass on trading away all of their winger depth and future for McDavid. No need to become a 2 man team like the oilers.

Any trade that includes McDavid is a no. He's a once in a lifetime talent and trading him would be idiotic, short of a return that any other team would be idiotic to give away for a single player.

Also, the Wings don't want Neal, even for a 1st. Too much term left.

I don't think he will be traded but he might request a trade

Mcdavid is not stupid and he has a good agent who is a voice of reason. They see what holland did with absolutely no money last year. They have good coaching and they are working on everything. They tried to get wingers and a goalie but it didn’t work. They have defensemen that are very close to playing so that part isn’t so worrying. Holland will have money to spend picks to trade and young assets to trade to build his team this summer and everything he needs is available. If they don’t start winning next year they might have a problem but until then everything is still progress..

The sad reality is, if McDavid demands a trade it will be when he has his NMC in place and then he'll dictate where he goes. At which point it will be him submitting a list of teams and then out of that small number teams will be bidding against each other and in such a small market, the return will fall greatly. This proposed trade above wouldn't even be considered by TO. They don't have to pay so much, not many other teams he'd likely want to go to would have assets close to this good to offer up. I'd wager if McDavid wants out, it's going to hurt so bad.

I say macdavid gives it two more years including this one. This team has done zero to provide depth.

I think Holland has done a good job but it will take time for them to gain chemistry. By then we will be to far back in the standings.
