No not at all, just a word of warning. Kapanen just isn't a good player. He will disappoint, not because he lacks maturity, he lacks intelligence. He has talent and it will entice but then he'll disappear for weeks on end and even when he is playing well, you'll notice him blowing his position all the time and also doing the same thing all the time, flying down the wing, shooting poorly aimed shots from bad angles and losing possession of the puck. He isn't going to last with Crosby, his game has no benefit to him.

Marner is a leader on the team and will continue to grow, bringing in an old guy and giving him a letter only puts unnecessary pressure on him. I agree with that. Thornton would never bring it up and shouldn’t have to. Marner should give it to him and not take no for an answer. Thornton is a HOF-er. If it was me, I would. And I don’t think Matthews, Tavares or Rielly should have to. I think Marmer should make the move 1st. But if he doesn’t. Would be a classy and good move for any of the 3 of them to do it too. Again, it would show leadership.

I think at the pro level its more ceremonial than anything, the team knows who the leaders are. Thorton doesn't need the added pressure of dealing with a letter, the future or the team is the core and everyone knows it. As I have said several times you are manufacturing controversy.
