Seattle isn't taking on Gourdes contract wishful thinking, And Johnson isn't waiving for New Jersey either. So both deals aren't happening.

    both teams say no.
TB probably pays a 1st for them to take someone like Killorn or Palate.
Don't argue either because they could take Maroon and you're screwed cap wise.

NJ has a ton of small fowards. How does TJ help them? They got 1 forward at 6 foot in their whole top 6 and you think they are going to take another 5;9 guy.
Hell no. That's one of the smallest teams in the whole damn league. It's no wonder they got shoved around the ice all last year. There is no way they are going to take another midget winger for 4 years.

I understand perfectly you are just delusional if you think Brisebois is giving Gourde and a 1st for nothing.

I think Seattle takes Palat if he's still on Tampa by then.

Gourde just has too many years on his contract -- and there are quite a few young guys that will be available for SEA to choose from or TBL may expose someone like Palat or Killorn (if not traded this year), so I think they'll just go in that direction. The late 1st isn't the greatest incentive when it comes to that contract and term.

I don't think they will, and if you protect who you are protecting above, they take Foote. Especially if Foote plays well this year.
My guess is TB pays to move McDonagh. And it's a 1st.
He'll be 32 years old with 4 seasons left at almost 7 million. Teams will be cautious of taking that on with their own cap issues in a flat cap next season.
But Seattle can get a defense man and a 1st. In return TB drops a lot of cap that they need to, and already has the replacement in Serg.
Meanwhile they keep Foote, who is young, cheap, and up and coming player. I don't think TB wants to lose their 1st round prospect who's a pretty solid player before he even really laces up for them.

Wouldn't Foote be exempt since its his rookie year or am I wrong?

according to the calculator on this site Foote is available.
Now if you are Seattle, you protected who you protected above, why wouldn't you take Foote? He's cheap, 1st round prospect who looks like he's going to be a solid defenseman. If he plays well this year in a role for TB. Forget it. He's taken. It's much better for TB to keep Foote, move a much older McD to clear cap, and only give up a late 1st.

Look at what happened with Vegas and Tampa. A 2nd, 4th, and Gusev for Garrsion being selected. Garrison I don't believe ever played a game for Vegas, and Gourde is going to be a contributor if he keeps his playoff form this coming season. Switch Gusev with Barre-Boulet and that's probably in the ballpark. If the Lightning have a successful season (i.e. that 2nd is in the late 50s or later), then it probably gets bumped up to the 1st.

Nowhere near enough for the Devils to take TJ, even if he was willing to waive. He's owed over $25M

Lol tampa protects foote hedman sergy and mcdonagh at expansion draft, if they can move mcdonagh they protect cernak but maroon isn’t worthkeeping if it means paying a 1st to move a valuable player

ok then they just took Cernak. Thanks for playing, but they are going to get a very good player from TB either way.
So what would you rather do. Lose a low cap hit really good young player, which will cause other issues for TB in their cap space that year, or a late round 1st pick. Gee, not a hard decision to make now is it?

Lol cernak is replaceable he’s a good top 4 guy but foote has top paring potential, and cernak was literally a throw in on the bishop trade , so we aren’t paying a 1st to protect a throw in

You aren't paying to protect a throw in. you are clearly think. Seattle DOES NOT HAVE TO TAKE YOUR CAP SPACE. AND YOU HAVE NONE NEXT YEAR.
There are more than enough teams in the league who will move a 1st to Seattle for cap. So if you expect them to help you, you are going to have to pay up.
Otherwise, they will just take cap from any of the other teams looking to dump a Neal, Lucic, Ladd.etc.... off their books and leave you stuck again in a flat cap.
    BYE NOW.

Lol tampa has point to resign next year and that’s it all they have to do is put palat or killorn on waivers and they will instantly get swept up they aren’t johnson
