Detroit would probably ask for more and not want to give up that third. Plus Johnson probably doesn’t want to go there. I don’t think the Kings really have any interest in McD and to be honest I don’t see the Bolts trading McD this year.

Only solution Tbay has is to have their team doctor not clear Stamkos to play hockey until the playoffs.

Why is Detroit giving up a 3rd? Add Katchouk and a 1st with Johnson.

I don't know why Stamkos got into 1 Cup Final game, I guess so he could feel liked he earned his ring.

Why do people keep thinking LA is the team willing to take on McDonagh?

No team will take that contract.

Just a thought. There are only a few teams in the league who could take on Cap, and there are even fewer who can actually afford to spend more (maybe only 1 or 2). If you’re those two teams, you can ask whatever you want if you know that Tampa has to pay the price to sign their guys and get under the cap. Could Detroit ask for 3 firsts?

LA says no to McD and Detroit's not surrendering no 3rd round pick for Tyler Johnson, Plus a 1st round pick isn't enough to move Johnson's contract add a 2nd and prospect on top of it.

He's still a good player and probably will be for the next 3-4 years, but by the time the Kings are a contender he likely won't be good anymore.

I'd say 1 team I can think of that would make sense would be Buffalo, they need help on the left and could use some Cup and veteran experience. I doubt McDonagh would waive for Buffalo though unless they have a VERY good season.

If they send Okposo to Robidas Island or use the compensation from McDonagh to move Okposo's contract then they should be fine.

Hall, Staal, and Montour will come off the books and Dahlin won't get massive money yet IMO, hopefully 6M or so.

Yzerman is likely sitting back and waiting. He likely has a trade he's willing to make. But if it doesn't match up with what he wants then he'll just say he's not interested. He could make a trade but he doesn't have to make a trade. Detroit is one of only a few teams who can take cap dumps. Getting players to waive NTC's is another story.

Yeah Dahlin will likely get a bridge deal like Sergachev got.

I think you just simplify it. TJ and a first for some B prospect and/or late pick

You nailed it. Yzerman doesnt have to do anything right now and I imagine, like you said, he has deals in place with numerous teams.
Getting Sergachev done was a nice piece of business and he must have hand shake deals with Cernak and Cirelli to not sign offersheets to allow him time to figure it out.
But...they are already over the cap by 1.9 and need to get Cernak and Cirelli signed, plus Im sure they want to carry 23 guys so they'll need two other bodies at the league minimum, so 1.4 added.
They'll need to shed 3.3 plus whatever it's gonna cost for Cernak and Cirelli? F me..this is nuts. Maybe they get Cernak at a cheap 2 mill for one year and Cirelli at 4. That means they still need to create a total of 9.3 mill with no wiggle room for TDL.
SOrry I kinda rambled on, but this stuff is pretty fun tbh haha

I still wouldn't be surprised if the Stamkos LTIR card is used at the last minute.
