I'd put down Chabot for Ottawa, The guy is only getting better.

I think you could argue that Marchand is a better contract than Pasta. Marchand makes about $500k and his signed for 2 more years.

Last 3 years of production:
Pastrnak - 218gp / 256pts / 1.17pgp
Marchand - 217gp / 272pts / 1.25pgp

Not only that but Marchand has finished top 10 in Selke voting for 2 of the last 3 years and plays on the team top PK unit (neither of which Pasta does).

Best contract on Detroit is Hronek.

But Marchand is also older than pasta which you have to take into account.

I considered Chabot, but compared his contract to McAvoy's and Hedman's and the $8M was a little steep.

Its the one edge I'd give Pasta really. Marchand is equally gifted offensively, a 200ft player, making less than Pasta. If you told me I'd have to be without Pasta or Marchand for a season, I'd rather be without Pasta.

There's more potential for Marchand's value to depreciate over the course of his contract, where Pasta's value will more than likely only grow until he hits UFA and gets paid the big bucks.

Right now though Marchand gives you more for less money
