2) Chiarelli sucks but let's give credit where it's due. The guy scouted well and drafted awesome even if he traded Hall for Larsson, Eberle for Strome, Caggiula for Manning, 1st Rd pick for G. Reinhart...

Dead wrong. Chiarelli wasn't around for the Draisaitl draft and was hired just weeks before the 2015 draft (McDavid, Jones, Bear, Marino) so I think it's fair to say his influence on that draft is likely seen mostly in the draft picks he traded away (Barzal, etc.).

PC and his scouting staff were responsible for the 2016-2018 drafts: Puljujarvi, Benson, Yamamoto, Samorukov, Bouchard, McLeod, etc.

I still think jp was the right choice wasn’t my top choice but wasn’t expecting him to be an option. I don’t buy into Columbus saw something and passed on him. PLD was picked ahead of him because he played C for the second half that junior year and Columbus desperately needed a C. Everything that happened afterwards was oilers management and decisions that hurt jp progression. Keeping anyone with lucic that long was asking for disaster.

You traded some pretty good talent for prospects. Caleb Jones will be a better dman than nurse in the future I'd never part with him. I'd also never trade Tkachuk if the oilers had him, I would trade nudge for sergachev though.
