Sure but you can say that about every pick. The two players you re-signed are really good picks for their rank and who got drafted 3 picks before or after.

It's tough, because Zacha was very highly rated coming out. Shero wanted a physical two way centerman and that's what Zacha projected to be. Missing on that pick is a large part of why the Devils are where they are- they could have had any of Werenski, Provorov, Rantanen, Barzal, Chabot, or Connor. I'm sure I'm missing some as well. The McLeod pick irked me at the time as well because we actually traded down with Ottawa. I wanted Logan Brown at the time- McAvoy didn't even cross my mind.

Yea I was disappointed with those two picks too. The 2015 draft was so stacked and even though Zacha isn't a bad player, Devils could have gone way better. McLeod pick didn't make too much sense either. The Devils drafted a ton of offensive players from 2014-2020 and if they just made these two different choices they would be a playoff contender.

Yeah it's been bad; since 2014 the Devils only have 5 guys (Zacha, Bratt, Hischier, Blackwood and Hughes) that they drafted that have played more than 82 games (counting Hughes because of the shortened season plus talent)

Hopefully Fitz fixed that this draft.

Yeah, I remember banging on my steering-wheel when I heard the Devils picked Hischier over Patrick. That's why GM mode has a save feature.
