Description
Chara and Larsson would be a lot of fun to watch smashing people in the D-zone. I also thought about moving Kassian for cap relief...but he’s just too much fun to have in the lineup against Calgary lol

They'd be better off with this then Yamamoto and RNH.

Some of these trades are brutal fo Edmonton, and some are brutal for the other teams. The end result is a forward group that’s about just as good as the current one, and a defence group that may just be the laughing stock of the league (especially the left side). Gibson’s great but he’s not going to be able to save 54/56 shots every game.

Why so Edmonton can be a basement team again? And really, as a WPG fan you should know what happens when you lose 2 of your top 6 forwards.

Also that ANA trade was already in the brutal for Edmonton category.

Ugh, calm down.

I meant that Anaheim would be better with this return then getting RNH and Yamamoto, the Ducks are rebuilding and there's a lot of good future pieces in that trade, idk why they'd even want RNH to be honest.
I never said this trade was good for the Oilers, was just commenting with my opinion from a Ducks perspective and I've never liked the Ducks.

Okay Yep, I definitely read that the wrong way. I think you’re 100% right too

I gotta disagree, that forward group is better,Tippet could mix things up all day with the amount of players that can move up and down the lineup . Also centers that can play wing..and the defence isn’t as bad as you think . It’s a good mix of shutdown and puck movers. Not sure if you’ve seen Manson but he’s a tough SOB . There wouldn’t be any cycling in the Oilers zone . Gibson is top ten goalie in the league easily and I’d have him top 5. You’d have to give up a haul for that and I did...Everyone’s entitled to their opinion and this is just for fun. Not sure how the trades are brutal I think they’re fair. I like Bear a lot but that would be pretty funny if he was a Bruin

Most people that take Johnson retain more and receive a first and another RFA . Tampa saves 3 million in this scenario . From what I’ve seen in other people’s AGM this is fair. Curious to see what you would change though. Also the Philly trade is a change for Ghost which a lot of Philly fans seem to be screaming for from what I’ve read around the Internet. Again what’s a better deal in your opinion ?

I'm just curious as to why they wouldn't want RNH?

Idk maybe they would, I just look at RNH being 27 and think is that a guy who's really going to fit into the Ducks long term plan? I don't think so but then again idk wtf Murray is trying to do with that lineup and what their plan really is, personally I think they should be tearing that team down and they have some good pieces on good contracts like Manson, Lindholm and Rakell that could get them really good returns but none seem to be going anywhere, really thought they should've sold off Silfverberg at the TDL a year or two back whenever it was and really kickstarted a rebuild rather then extending him.

Yeah the forward group is a bit better, not enough to offset how horrible the left side D is going to be. None of Chara, Jones or Ghost should be top 4 defenceman and one of them is going to have to play top pairing. If half of every D pairing is troublesome even before any injuries, then the team is not going to make the playoffs. I see 3x 3-4 defenceman, and a bunch of 5-6. This is not a recipe for success
