That's not gonna happen. Only way MD ends up here is if one of the big 2 is out. And that isn't happening yet.

Value is fine in a vacuum, but the retention like that would never happen + the pieces coming back aren't what NSH needs. They don't need Blomqvist after drafting Askarov, Petterson would probably get nabbed by SEA, and they don't need another bottom 6 forward in Sceviour.

I can't see how this could work, with the massive, long-term retention you're looking for here. PIT doesn't have the picks or prospects needed to get it done. Like @villenash said, there isn't really anything of interest to NSH in this return.

I like the idea of trading Pettersson for a strong 3C or cap room for a 3C but not this particular deal.

Duchene doesn’t really fit the pens rigid top six/ bottom six mentality.
