Dubois's not worth both of them

I agree. Just putting the base for a deal here. Prospect/pick addition from CLB to balance it. I like the resulting roster for both teams. CLB could sign Granlund, plus have Nyquist back late season and have tons of scoring depth up front, a very deep crease, and a respectable blue line.

Which team do you dislike this most for? And do you think the trade could be tweaked to make it work?

Calgary. Dubois simply ain't worth that much.

Moving Dubois can only happen if it’s an overpay coming back that improves CLB. Landing a couple 80 point players (including Monahan, who is a much better face off center than Dubois and good for 30G every year) to take advantage of cap space is a pretty great return.

I could see CGY being interested in this deal if a prospect like Bemstrom is added by CLB. And either of Texier or Foudy instead of Bemstrom would be a great return that allows CGY to give Mangiapane and Dube more prominent top 6 roles.

I mean it's pretty much clear that Gaudreau is leaving after two years so getting anything like Dubois in return would be absolutely ideal, but by the same token losing Monahan would hurt them as well. A bit too much I think.

Also CBJ took a risk with acquiring Panarin with only two years left, and they gained pretty much nothing from that risk as he walked. The risk with Gaudreau doing the same is fairly high. I don't think they're moving their best forward to get in yet another sticky situation - especially when there's the matter of Jones' and Werenski's extensions looming in two years time. Adding Gaudreau to the pile would be just too excessive I reckon.
