where would this team finish

Description
I am currently under the impression the team plays in a division of: Ducks Kings Knights Yotes Avs Stars Wild. Keep that in mind in comments. I believe this team is 4th of those, under Knights Avs Stars.

That 3rd line is sneaky good, and fast if Gregor is 3LW instead of Patty.

Martin Jones is still your #1 goalie, so...CONGRATS this year you get to keep your top 3 draft pick!

Depends on Jones/Dubnyk....plus injuries...

If Jones can play like he did when you went to the Cup and you have no major injuries, this team can do something. Not a cup winner but WC chances.

Can't see them finishing any higher than 6th. But if one of their stars gets hurt they can easily finish last. Teams are trying to find 1A and 1B goalies nowadays. San Jose is going with 2 backups. And not very good backups at that

If the division is something like that mentioned in the description, I'm pessimistic enough to say that SJ would end up dead last.

Probably 5th at best in the division if you ask me. Maybe a wildcard spot if we’re healthy and consistent.

We need to keep Sorensen. Hes on a tear in Sweden just three points behind Dahlen with a 10 game point streak. Dahlen will also sign in SJ when Allsvenskan season is over

It’s a contract year for him and he wants to prove he belongs. I think it will be his best season yet.

Doug Wilson has done nothing but emphasize competition. Sorensen is the worst of the Sharks bottom 6 options, and taking away from Gregor/Leonard getting NHL time

This is nothing short of a shortsighted comment. He had a bad year but with your logic anyone who had a bad year last season should be traded. Labanc, Burns, Karlsson, All had a bad year guess we should trade them too.

Unlike those guys, he has little upside, he's playing well in Sweden means little. His line mates in 2018-19 had 20 more points than him, and that was a career year for Sorensen. He has a low floor AND low ceiling. Also, he expires at the end of the season, and Gregor is just at good for half the price.

You really think a healthy Sharks team is the worst California team? I disagree. It gets muddy with Yotes and Wild.

There's many issues in this team they're quite unable to fix due to the terrible contracts. Last year was a show of what is looming ahead for them for years to come I believe.

Assuming that the season stars in February as I'd expect, there's been almost a full year break for the team. With an older team it could be detrimental for them to lose their touch - and SJ's core is one of the oldest in the league.

I do think they're in the worst position out of all Cali teams. But it's just my opinion.

One season is not a reflection of the future. Do I think the Sharks are screwed for the future, yeah, but not next year. It depends how you look at a year off. I see it as: the former best defenseman in the league just got a year off to be healthy. That would NEVER happen ordinarily. This has never happened before, and I expect a huge bounceback, same for Hertl, returning to 2018-19 ppg form.

Seldom does an older team a bounceback make. Usually when they start to slide down the hill, in time the hill just gets steeper until they reach the rock bottom. I don't have much trust for the Sharks, but I kind of hope they prove me wrong, because I used to like that team as a kid.
